Module 1: Why should a PM be Data-Informed?
- Understand the role of data in product decisions (arbitrate, prioritize, adjust).
- Differentiate between Data-Driven and Data-Informed approaches.
- Discover the Thiga Eats running case study and the risks of deciding "without data".
Module 2: What is Data?
- Clarify what "data" actually means (data types, big data, quant / qual).
- Understand the data stack: ETL, storage, dataviz, product tools.
- Identify data roles (Data Analyst, Data Engineer, Data Scientist) and organizational models.
- Learn how a PM collaborates effectively with these profiles.
Module 3: Defining and Calculating Common Metrics
- Link the business model, product typology, and lifecycle to the right indicators.
- Distinguish between KPI vs metric, lagging vs leading, and "vanity" metrics.
- Map your metrics: usage, engagement, satisfaction, quality, efficiency, business, ecosystem.
- Use frameworks like NSM, HEART, CASTLE, AARRR, DORA… to structure your KPIs.
Module 4 : Setting Objectives to Achieve
- Move from "too many KPIs" to 3–10 core KPIs using the KPI Focus Matrix.
- Choose Goals and Guardrails using the Goal Decision Matrix.
- Set a realistic target for a KPI (e.g., conversion) based on internal data / benchmarks.
- Identify leading metrics to track impact quickly.
Module 5 : Experimenting to make Data-Informed Decisions
- Why experiment: to reduce uncertainty and de-risk product decisions.
- Map risks: desirable, feasible, viable, usable.
- Discover main experiment types (user tests, A/B tests, fake door, MVP…).
- Use the Experiment Sheet to formulate hypotheses, metrics (including leading metrics), and success criteria.
Module 6 : Measuring and Understanding Impact
- Lay the foundations of product tracking: events, tracking plan, datalayer.
- Connect tracking, dashboards, and KPIs defined in previous modules.
- Read experiment results and interpret the impact on goals, leading metrics, and guardrails.
- Know how to iterate: decide whether to persevere, adjust, or stop an initiative based on data.
